Viola Yeşiltaç's practice considers a range of socio-cultural issues, such as migration, through the lens of her personal history. She reflects intensively on the idiosyncrasies of places in her conceptually-driven works, which she does in a diverse range of media.
Viola is currently an artist in residence at the Istanbul Galata House. Recent solo exhibitions include projects in Fondazione Brodbeck, Catania, Italy, Artist Space, New York, The Kunstverein in Langenhagen, Germany and L'Union di Arte Contemporanea, Rome, Italy. Group exhibitons include projects in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit, São Paulo's 30th International Biennial and The Kitchen, New York.
